How I Fell in Love with a Foam Roller (And Why You Might Too)

It all started at a workshop.
There it was: the Garuda Chakra Foam Roller. Long, elegant, and… let’s be honest—kind of intimidating. It was bigger than the standard rollers I’d used before, and it just looked like it meant business.
But you know when something quietly calls to you.
I couldn’t resist. I lay down, placed the foam roller along my spine, and gently shifted side to side, feeling each muscle in my back begin to release.
My first thought? Stunning.
My second? Yummm.
(Yes, that's a totally legit reaction when your nervous system says thank you.)

By the end of the first day, I was completely hooked. By Day 3? Fully obsessed. This wasn’t just a foam roller—it was an entire movement experience. It lengthened my spine, strengthened my core, supported my body, and released tension in ways I never expected. When I started using it with my clients, the results were just as impressive—especially for those who were taller or had trouble feeling stable on standard-sized rollers.

Clients Loved It Instantly (And So Did Their Spines)
The moment it entered my studio, clients were drawn to it. Some eyed it with curiosity. Others with suspicion. But once they got on it? Instant obsession!
One client with chronic neck tension and frequent headaches started with three simple exercises using flexion and extension of the spine, (#1: Arm Circles: #2: Thoracic Spine Extension and #3: Curl and Arch) and saw relief almost immediately.
Another client—6'2" and athletic—simply needed help connecting to his spine. I had him lie lengthwise on the roller, from head to sacrum. That’s it. No fancy moves, just lying still. But the shift was incredible. He became deeply aware of his posture, breath, and spinal alignment. To stay steady, he instinctively hugged the roller with his ankles—and that simple act made all the difference.
Now he uses it regularly—and credits it for helping his golf game and easing the toll of long hours spent sitting.
Two different people. Two completely different needs. One magical foam roller.
Why It Feels So Different
Sure, foam rollers are everywhere—spiky, short, neon-colored cylinders lining studio shelves. But the Garuda Chakra Foam Roller? It’s in a league of its own.
• Longer (122cm) for full-body support
• Wider (18cm) for added stability
• Firm yet forgiving so it goes deep without going too far
Yes, it’s great for easing sore muscles—but even better as a movement tool not just for rolling out knots, but a prop that invites you to move with intention—exploring balance, breath, core control, and alignment. You can lie on it, roll with it, stretch over it, and stabilize against it. It helps you feel where your body is in space and how it connects from head to toe.
It’s not just about relief—it’s about reconnection.
BOSU® + Chakra Foam Roller
The best part? It pairs beautifully with the BOSU®.
I’m an advocate of the BOSU®, so, of course, I had to see how the BOSU® would work with the foam roller. I started experimenting. Swan Dive. Breast Stroke. Suddenly, moves that were tricky for some clients became totally accessible. We placed the belly on the BOSU®, forearms on the roller—and like magic, the muscles loosened and extension felt possible again. Clients were rejeuvenated. They could lift, lengthen, and breathe, all without feeling compressed.
This combo quickly became a client favorite for opening up the spine, improving breath, and bringing more ease into challenging moves.
Just a Few Things It Can Help With…
• Releasing deep-held tension
• Reducing inflammation
• Improving circulation
• Increasing flexibility and joint mobility
• Supporting fascia release + better posture
Quick How To Get Started Like a Pro
1. Hip Flexor Reset

Start: Lie on your back with the foam roller under the pelvis. Optional: feet supported on a BOSU® dome.
Movement: Bend one knee at a time while maintaining pelvic stability and relaxed hip flexors.
Targets: Hip flexors, deep core, pelvic alignment
2. Gentle IT Band Trick

Start: Lie on your side with the foam roller under the outer thigh. Top leg crosses behind for support.
Movement: Roll slowly along the outer thigh, using your arms to regulate pressure. It can feel intense, so let the back leg help you adjust. For extra comfort, support your upper body on a BOSU® and ease into the movement.
Targets: IT band region, lateral hip stabilizers, tissue hydration
Taylor’d Tip: Pressure should feel productive, not punishing—breathe to soften resistance.
So... Do You Need the Garuda Chakra Foam Roller?
Yes. Absolutely. 1000%.
This is more than a roller—it’s a teacher. It shows you where to soften, where to engage, and how to move with more awareness. Whether you're healing, training, or just want to feel better in your body, it’s a powerful, feel-good tool that doesn’t ask much—except that you actually use it.
Combine it with the BOSU® Pro Balance Trainer On Amazon, a FitCord Resistance Band, and your favourite small props, and you’ve got yourself a complete movement studio—no gym required.
